For PenguChan Studios, "A" grading reflects items that are as near-flawless as a handmade item can get.

There is no noticeable imperfections upon close inspection.

For PenguChan Studios, "A-/B+" grading reflects minor imperfections that are:

• less noticeable than on a typical "B" grade item
• still not flawless enough to be considered an "A" grade

These are a more affordable version of 'collector-grade' items, essentially. There may be minor imperfections on close inspection that aren't noticeable at first.

Enamel Pins:

• Small, unintentional overlaps of screen print on metal edges in low-importance areas on a design
• 1-2 tiny specs in enamel in low-importance areas on a design

For PenguChan Studios, "B" grading reflects imperfections that are noticeable if you're looking for flaws, but not necessarily at a quick glance when looking at distance of 1'+

B-Grade pins are our most popular grade to purchase. They are an affordable option for collectors that aren't as particular for a 'collector-grade' (flawless) item that they still want to display. If you aren't an experienced collector, "B" grade imperfections won't be particularly noticeable (if at all).

• Small, unintentional screen print overlapping on metal edges
• 2-3 small specs in enamel in low-importance areas on a design
• Minor scratching/texture on enamel & print that's only visible in certain lighting

For PenguChan Studios, "C" grading reflects imperfections that are noticeable when inspecting within a distance of 1', but are not necessarily noticeable from a distance of 4' (typical display-viewing distance on a wall).

"C" grade items are typically used for display in high-traffic areas, such as on a bag or lanyard.

• Multiple small specs in enamel in low-importance areas on a design
• Scratching/texture on enamel & print that's only visible in certain lighting
• Flaws in metal plating on the side edges or on the back of the pin

For PenguChan Studios, "D" grading reflects imperfections that are distinctly noticeable.

These are sold below at-cost to recuperate some losses. Like "C" grade, "D" grade items are typically used for display in high-traffic areas, such as on a bag or lanyard.
